Apparently, South Carolina is the only state in the country that grows tea! Those with an eye for economics would probably say that’s great news. That is, we no longer have to pay the Japanese millions of En to get our caffeine fix. Why should imported goods cost so much?
One can see that other states have tried and failed at growing this crop. Oh, it’s certainly difficult! You probably want to know the reasons. Well, my understanding of the phenomenon is no better than my knowledge of the en dash, of quantum physics, or of the Australian hairy-nosed wombat. We should all learn more about tea, though! Why not come to South Carolina with me and find out more?
