And the correct answer to the “Feel Like Going to the Movies?” puzzle was…
LUKE’S INSIDE OUT! A food truck in Austin Texas that specializes in sandwiches named after the principal ingredient. The Cow, The Chicken, The Vegetable and more fuse flavors from an assortment of cuisines to bring a taste that us truly amazing.
To start this puzzle, we are given a set of 6 theaters and told that each has a different movie. From the character names given at the start of the puzzle or from the scenes shown in the linked video, one will notice these six movies are all Pixar films. Specifically, we are working with Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Up. To solve the logic puzzle, we notice that the oldest three movies (Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Finding Nemo) must be in theaters 1, 2, and 3 in some order by clue 6. Since Toy Story has more than two movies in its franchise clue 2 prevents it from being in theater 3. But since Finding Nemo was released in 2003, it also cannot be in spot 3 by clue 3. So Monsters Inc must go in theater 3.
On the right side of the grid, Ratatouille and Up both have no sequels or prequels, so they must go in theaters 4 and 6 in some order by clue 4. This leaves theater 5 for The Incredibles. Finally, since Finding Nemo and Ratatouille are the only movies with animals as the primary character, these movies must go in theaters 1 and 4 respectively by clue 5. This leaves Toy Story in theater 2 and Up in Theater 6.
Now that we have placed the movies, it’s time to focus on the video clip that is linked to this puzzle. The clip shows several characters from the six movies that we found above. The characters (ordered by movie) are:
Toy Story – Slink, Buzz
Monsters Inc – George Sanderson, Celia, Smitty, Boo
Finding Nemo – Jacques, Crush, Bruce, Gill
The Incredibles – Jack
Ratatouille – Skinner
Up – Charles Muntz
One will notice that all of these characters names start with one of the letters B, C, G, J, and S. Additionally, the quote at the bottom of the puzzle gives us an order for these letters. If we mark off which theaters have movies with the shown characters starting with each letter, we get the following:
This leaves us with a message written in Braille that we can decode to get the answer LUKE’S. Who’s full name LUKE’S INSIDE OUT inspired the theme for this puzzle.
